KOOZA tells the story of The Innocent, a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world. His journey leads to encounters with a succession of comic characters such as the King, the Trickster, the Obnoxious Tourist and his Bad Dog.
The exotic visual spectacle of KOOZA combines two circus traditions—acrobatic performance and the art of clowning—as pays homage to the traditions of the traveling European circus, the American jazz club, Victorian illusionists and vaudeville. The tightrope routine, which features wires at two levels of heights, is spellbinding, as is the traditional chair-balancing act, which is performed with a mixture of aggression and Zen-like calm.
