Why is this resort unique?
Once populated by grizzly bears, from which the area received its name, the Big Bear region grew rapidly during the Southern California Gold Rush from 1861 to 1912. Visitors flocked to Big Bear for lake fishing and recreation, however, it was the hot springs that drew Hollywood celebrities of the time. The Club at Big Bear Village is a multi-seasonal outdoor playground where guests can get away from it all and still be only 100 miles from all of the excitement Los Angeles has to offer. Big Bear Village offers a variety of places to shop, dine, and have fun. There are events every season from car shows and boat shows to international film festivals.
